The group has recently been listed as one of only 30 groups successful in securing one of the prestigious AOL Innovation in the Community Awards.

The award of £2000 will be used to update the website and provide more functions which will enhance the service we currently provide.

about the support groupd

Our group has been setup to offer support to victims of rape / sexual assault and their families. We know from experience that whole families can be affected by this crime, therefore we lend an ear to listen to them as well.

We have trained support staff who man the telephone lines 24 hours a day. They will listen to your problems and give advice where possible.

We do not put any pressure on anyone to talk about the assault itself, we are merely here to listen to whatever you want to talk about.

We also have some trained counsellors for anyone who would like to talk to someone on a one to one basis, face to face. Dates and times can be arranged to suit your needs.

There is no age limit to who can call. We will give support to any age group, male or female. We also have male support workers. When calling, if a male answers the telephone, you can request to talk to a female and vice versa.

We will, in the future, set up a chat room where you can have group discussions with other people in a similar situation to yourself.
